Splinter

I have a splinter in my little finger. It is very tinny but it hurts like crazy. The whole day I was not able to find a needle to pick on this and my other attempts, using my nail and teeth, have been unsuccessful. Sometimes you just have to live with a pain.

Human have this amazing capability of adapting to pain and loss. After all, that is how we survived years of evolution, isn’t it?

When growing up you encounter a lot of different things. You see and hear a lot of things that might not make sense to you but at some point of your life you will have your “Aha!” moment. That is when everything falls into place for that specific matter. Sometimes it is good but sometimes it is just terrifying. However, you have lived your life believing on what you understood and have formed your opinions based on those beliefs. Now that something else is added to your understanding of the world should you desert your previous point of views, no matter how strongly you believed in them? Think about it for a second, it is not as easy as it seems.
You wish you would have never experienced it......

Two weeks later:
The splinter is gone but when I touch the point of entry it hurts “havarta”. Will it ever go away?

Life is so complicated. There are a lot of things that you want to achieve and do. With only so much time in hand, you wonder how to prioritize them in the best form possible. It doesn’t stop there though. Sometimes lower priorities take precedent because they are on the critical path. You know, you can’t ignore them because if they fall behind so do the other stuff.

You give up on things that keep you alive and place the emphasis on other things. This is when replacement is not possible. You keep going back to it but try to ignore it as much as humanly possible.

You stay mad to avoid falling. You stay happy to avoid wilting.

You start believing.
You doubt yourself.
You have to believe, to start living.
